The Aswan High Dam
Between 1960 and 1970, the High Dam that spans the Nile River was constructed. It has had a significant impact on Egypt’s economy and culture.
The Unfinished obelisk
The giant obelisk from antiquity is the unfinished one. It was acquired by the Lateran Palace in Rome when Queen Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC) commissioned it to accompany the Karnak Obelisk (originally in Karnak).
Philae Temple
They honored Isis, the goddess of love and beauty, at Philae Temple. As part of UNESCO’s Campaign for Nubia initiative, the temple complex was dismantled and moved to the neighboring island of Agilkia to protect it and other sites before the completion of the Aswan High Dam in 1970.
