Since every rock in Egypt has a history dating back four thousand years to the time of the pharaohs, magic, gods, and goddesses, when Egypt reached for the sky and knocked on the gates of the heavens, it is true that there are an endless number of enchanting sites throughout the country, especially in the wonderful cities of Cairo and Aswan. This two-day excursion from Aswan to Luxor and Cairo will allow you to witness the mysterious heritage of Egypt. Discover the ancient hieroglyphs on the walls of the temples of Karnak and Hatshepsut, the pyramids of Giza, and the Great Sphinx, its permanent protector.
Your trip to Luxor and Cairo will start from Aswan with breakfast, followed by our representative to pick you up from your hotel in Aswan and board a train to the eternal city of Luxor, where you will witness some of the best tourist sites in Luxor, starting with:
Valley of the Kings
The Valley of the Kings is the last heavenly resting place for Heliopolis’s finest kings and queens (1570-1070 BC). It is one of the world’s most impressive ancient monuments, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. It contains 63 tombs with captivating ancient Egyptian artifacts, decorations, and bones of pharaohs such as Ramesses II and his dynasty, Amenhotep I, Hatshepsut, and the legendary king Tutankhamun.
Hatshepsut Temple
Hatshepsut Temple Deir el-Bahari celebrates the beauty and splendor of Queen Hatshepsut, one of ancient Egypt’s most successful and visionary kings. The temple’s architecture is based on classical architecture from 1479 BC and features some of Egypt’s finest decorations and carvings.
Colossal statue of Memnon
The Colossi of Memnon are two colossal quartzite sandstone blocks rising 18 meters (60 ft) high and weighing 720 tons each, each in the figure of Amenhotep III (1386-1350). A massive earthquake in 27 BC severely destroyed. But it was rebuilt in 199 AD. The voice of Memnon, with which the sculptures sang from time to time at dawn with a wailing sound that was no more than the sound of the wind blowing through the statue, made the figures famous throughout the Greco-Roman period.
Afterward, you’ll have lunch before heading to:
Karnak Temple
Karnak Temple is one of the world’s largest open-air museums, making it one of history’s most amazing archaeological sites. It was known for nearly 4,000 years as I pet-isu, which means Most Chosen Place, and Pr-In House Of Amon. It was dedicated primarily to the Theban trinity, which includes the god Amun, his wife, the goddess of justice Mut, and his son, the moon god Khonsu.
You will fly directly to Cairo and spend the night in a five-star hotel.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and meet your tour guide to finish the 2-day Cairo and Luxor from Aswan excursion by seeing the tourist sites in Old Cairo such as:
Giza pyramid complex
The Giza pyramid complex is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world and is a true reflection of the greatness of the ancient Egyptian civilization. It has a history of more than 400 years and consists of three main pyramids, six smaller pyramids, the great Egyptian guardian, the glorious Sphinx, and the Valley Temple.
The Great Pyramid of Giza
The Great Pyramid of Khufu, the last surviving tower of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, was built in 2580 BC in 20 years with 2,300,000 limestone blocks weighing 2.5 tons each and a workforce of 100,000 skilled artisans. The Great Pyramid rises at 147 meters (481 ft), making it the tallest structure in the world at 3,800 years old. However, due to its complex interior design compared to its gigantic size, it remains a mystery.
The Great Sphinx of Giza
The Sphinx is a mysterious giant warrior sent from heaven. It is in the form of a mythical beast known as the Sphinx with the body of a lion and the head of a man, most likely King Khafra, to show strength and intelligence. Measuring 73 meters (240 ft) long and 20 meters (66 ft) wide, the Great Sphinx was carved from a single limestone rock in less than three years with the help of about 100 trained workers for free.
Valley Temple
It was built during Egypt’s Old Kingdom (2686-2134 BC) and is one of the best-preserved monuments and a rich source of knowledge about the mummification process in ancient Egypt. It is composed entirely of limestone and granite and contains stunning diorite carvings of King Khafre.
Lunch will be served at Pyramids Nile View Restaurant with your tour guide, after which you will visit:
Egyptian Museum
The Egyptian Museum contains the world’s most extensive collection of rare ancient Egyptian artifacts and antiquities, dating back more than 4,500 years and spanning the entire history of ancient Egypt, in addition to several mummies and other exhibits. Inside the two-story building are some 120,000 objects ranging from expensive items such as gold, silver, and rare jewels to simple materials such as wood or stone in the form of sculptures, funerary objects, and supplies such as King Tutankhamun’s riches.
Transfer to Cairo Airport to catch your return flight to Aswan, ending your two-day vacation in Luxor and Cairo.
